Getting to New Zealand & Waiheke Island

We’re so excited to have friends and family coming from near and far, and we want to make sure getting to the wedding is as easy as possible!

Waiheke Island is about a 35–40 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland. Once you land in Auckland:

From the airport, you can grab a taxi, ride-share, or catch the SkyBus to Downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal.
The ferry to Waiheke is run by Fullers360, and it runs regularly throughout the day. You can book tickets online (we recommend booking ahead if you're traveling during peak times).
If you’d like to bring a car to the island, you can take the SeaLink car ferry instead.
Once you're on Waiheke, there are taxis, shuttles, and rental cars available. If you're not bringing a car, try to stay near Oneroa, Onetangi, or Palm Beach, as they’re easy to get around.

Where to Stay

Whether you’re planning to stay on Waiheke Island or in Auckland, there are lots of great options. Waiheke is definitely the most convenient choice for the wedding itself, but Auckland is a great base too—especially if you’re extending your trip.

Waiheke has everything from boutique hotels and luxury lodges to holiday homes and cozy beachside baches. Here are some great areas to look at:

Oneroa: The main village—plenty of cafes, restaurants, and close to the beach.
Onetangi: A quieter spot with a gorgeous long beach and a few lovely places to eat.
Palm Beach: Small, peaceful, and super scenic.
Surfdale or Blackpool: Great access to shops and transport.

We recommend booking accommodation as early as you can—Waiheke gets busy, especially in summer!
